Arhontariki is an imposing Cretan manor house originally built in the early 20th Century with private pool that can accommodate up to 10 Guests. It is located in Kaliviani, a village of Kissamos (a.k.a.Kasteli) blessed to be on the crossroads of Balos, Falasarna and Elafonisi beaches. Arhontariki went through a full renovation recently which revived the genuine traditional architecture of the property that was prominent on the island of Crete. It is constricted with rectangular chiseled stones, it has an interior living space of 180 square meters, and the two floors are connected with an interior wooden stair. The swimming pool with Jacuzzi is located in a well-manicured lush garden, providing a comfortable, tranquil, relaxed environment for the Guests. Villa Arhontariki can accommodate up to 10 Guests with a large fully equipped kitchen, a play room with gym facilities and a Hammam. The windows and balconies in each floor offer a panoramic view to the Kissamos cape and the hills that surround the village of Kaliviani. It is furnished with modesty and simplicity with Cretan antiques, reflecting the personal taste of its current owner.
Arhontariki is situated in the picturesque village of Kalyviani, approximately 45 kilometers from Chania, Crete's second biggest city, approximately 6.5 kilometers from the town of Kasteli (a.k.a. Kissamos) and 4km from the port of Kasteli.
Kasteli or Kissamos is the second largest urban centre of the region after the city of Chania and it is a self-contained lively working village with all the amenities someone might need, including coffee shops and traditional taverns that serve genuine Cretan dishes made by local products. A refreshment stop for those on their way to visit the island of Gramvousa with its impressive castle built by the Venetians in 1579, the Balos Lagoon, the coastal ancient Minoan town of Falassarna and the synonymous nearby beach, one of the best in Greece.
Villa Arhontariki was named after the 'arhontariki' which is a spacious and formal room of the monasteries in Greece, used for the welcoming and hospitality of pilgrims and travelers. It is the name of their official guesthouse originally meant for the lords and esteemed foreign guests.
