welcome to our historic holiday home
Villa Filitsa is a stone built property listed in the historical home registry in Greece. The property was renovated in 2001 and in 2010 further changes were made.
The main entrance to Villa Filitsa is located within a private, inner courtyard tiled with stone slabs. The pool area is also accessed from the courtyard.
The living area is the original wine cellar of the house. Arches 6 meters high and a fireplace provide the background for a comfortable seating area with two sofas, several chairs and a writing desk. The loft above the living area has two single beds and a wardrobe. A full bath with tub is situated below the loft.
The kitchen at Villa Filitsa is fully fitted and has a large dining table. A full fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and cook-ware complete the kitchen. There is a small W/C just off the kitchen area.
One of the two bedroom suites is located above the kitchen area.* This part of the building was originally the “harem” and is thus built on several levels. A wood burning stove and seating area provide ample room to relax and up a further, short flight of stairs is a wrought iron, canopied double bed and wardrobe. The full bath for this suite is on the mezzanine level. A large roof terrace is accessed through the seating area.
The second bedroom suite is situated on the ground floor, adjacent to the main living area. Originally this area of the property was the kitchen and the arched, open cooking area remains one of the features of this suite. There is also a wood burning fireplace/traditional oven. Next to the fireplace is a coffee-making nook complete with sink and full fridge-freezer, coffee maker and kettle. This suite also has a wrought iron, canopied double bed, large wardrobe and full bath. There is a small stone tiled terrace and garden area outside this suite.
The Venetian Apartment is located at the front of the property and is a self-contained apartment. A canopied wrought-iron bed, wardrobe, complete kitchen and bathroom with a glass shower stall provide excellent accomodation for extra guests. The terrace of the Venetian apartment overlooks the square.
*Please note that the bedroom area is at the top of a three story building. There are stairs leading to the bathroom on the mezzanine level and up to the seating area and then up to the bedroom loft.
