Myrtia Beach House was originally built in 1962 just a few meters from the beach of Tersanas in Chania as a traditional Greek family vacation home. In August 2015 the house went through a full renovation and now it operates as a holiday rental property throughout the year that can accommodate up to 6 Guests. The key aspects of the renovation were to improve the house's energy consumption and make it wheelchair accessible and suitable/comfortable for people with mobility difficulties.
Myrtia Beach House is situated right in the centre of the Tersanas Bay in the area of Akrotiri, surrounded by a green courtyard of 4000 square meters, and has a direct view to the sea and the White Mountains. The beach is literally a stone’s throw from the house. The beautiful garden is abundant in high trees, bushes and local herbs. The surrounding area is inviting to take a walk, and at a distance of 1km there is the village of Chorafakia with several tavernas and supermarkets. There is a regular bus service to commute to the city of Chania and the bus stop is conveniently located right outside the property.
There is something quite special about Myrtia Beach House which can be difficult to describe in words. When you enter into this cozy and stylish house you get overflowed by the longing summery feeling you once knew or dreamt of and memories start to flow. It could well be the prime position of the house, the sound of distant waves, and the sea breeze carrying a salty aroma. It may be the magnificent warm and stylish simplicity portrayed in the décor of the house, the hint of thyme and other plants from the garden, children’s laughter from the Tersanas beach down below. Or it could simply be a combination of the above and many more that brings this joyful feeling of summer and long-awaited holidays; Freedom, serenity, relaxation, fun, beauty, endless warm summer nights. One thing is for certain; Myrtia is a house with a soul and happy moments and stand ready to accommodate many more.
