The beautiful greater area of Georgioupolis – Petres on the borderline between the counties of Chania and Rethymno has everything someone might ask for. The main beach of Georgioupolis joins the beach in the Kavros area and other ones even further east, all the way to Petres, forming a huge beach of over 10 kilometres long.
A massive sandy beach awarded with a Blue Flag, three rivers that meet the sea at the village, the fresh water lake of Kournas close by, the beautiful inland area of Apokoronas and the cities of Chania and Rethymno located 39 and 23km away respectively, makes the area of Georgioupolis one of the most appealing in Crete.
