Although someone would expect it to be totally remote, the breathtaking beach of Seitan Limania is located on the northeast side of the Akrotiri peninsula just a short 20 km drive from the city centre of Chania and 4km from Hordaki village. To get to Seitan Limania beach, drive through Hordaki village and follow the tarmacked road to the end. There begins a steep but short to walk (15 minutes) path that descends to this well hidden paradise of exotic beauty. The beach is not organised so make sure to bring all the essentials including drinking water, snacks or anything else you might need. A parasol would be a good idea since there is no shade anywhere on the beach. Also make sure to leave nothing behind as you leave. Tip No.1: You will meet a closed door in the middle of the road. Please close the door behind you as you go through as it has been put there to fence the goats of a shepherd. Tip No.2: This tiny cove became very popular after the road was constructed which means that it may easily get very busy. If you would like some more space and privacy try to avoid weekends and the peak of the tourist season.
