The picturesque beach of Macherida is located on the northwest side of the Akrotiri peninsula just 14 km from Chania. It is hidden amongst a rocky cove and it accessed either on foot after a short walk or by boat.
It is a picture perfect 'cozy' little beach with white sand and turquoise crystal clear waters. Macherida is not an organised beach with the closest amenities being located in Tersanas beach approximately one kilometer away.
Near the beach there is the biotope of Macherida which is a habitat for many wild animals and looks like a “crater” from which brackish water gushes.
