General Terms & Conditions

Alargo do not believe in hiding the "small print", often referred to as Terms and Conditions, so please familiarize yourself with the below text to feel reassured about our services and liability.

By using our website and the services ‘Alargo’ provides, you agree to the terms and conditions. If you do not accept these terms and conditions, you must refrain from using the website and the services. Alargo AS is registered in Norway under the trading name of ‘Alargo’, Company Registration Number: 912 060 349. www.alargo.no and www.alargo.com is operated by Alargo AS, also known as "alargo”, "Alargo”, “we”, “us” and “our".

It is also important that you read the information in our accompanying literature carefully (as reproduced on our website) and check the details confirmed back to you at the time of booking, as this form the basis of your agreement with us. And remember when you tick the box/boxes ‘I have read and agreed the Terms & Conditions’, you agree to the General Terms & Conditions and any other specific Terms & Conditions that govern the selected Alargo Services. In other words, your contract with Alargo is bound by the ‘Terms & Conditions’ at the time of booking.

Booking Confirmation Methods

We provide the following Booking Confirmation methods:

  1. Online Bookings with Instant Confirmation for reservations made through our booking system.
  2. Requests where approval is required

Online Booking’s Confirmations are always instant and require payment by credit/debit card. Your deposit is charged from your card right away and the reservation is considered confirmed.

Requests through our system, affiliates, telephone, email or any other source, require approval before payment is needed. Only when a request is processed and accepted, you will be asked to proceed with payment, in order to confirm your reservation. Hence, the status of your payment is what makes a reservation confirmed.

When a Booking is Confirmed you will receive the Booking Voucher which includes the reference number, payment details and any other information related to the service/services purchased though Alargo.

Our General Payment Policy

If you wish to reserve/book a service online with us (e.g. accommodation, private chef, etc.), a minimum deposit of 30% is due at the time of booking. We do not Confirm any services without the placement of the deposit. The remainder of the balance must be paid in full no later than 60 days prior to service provision (e.g. Day of Check-In for accommodation, day of service provision for Private Chef services, etc.). For “late bookings” the full amount will be requested at the time of booking. Late bookings are the bookings that are made less than 60 days prior to service provision. When reserving your services with us, you will be given two options for paying the deposit and the remaining balance of your Booking.

  1. Online payment by credit card.
  2. Bank transfer to our account.

Please note that the General Payment Policy above applies to all of our services. However, you must always refer to the payment policies (if any) that govern the services that you have selected as they might exceed the General Payment Policy. This may apply to special offers and discounts that we occasionally offer under special terms (e.g. Full Pre-Payment / No-Cancellation) that will differ from the General Payment Policy. When you purchase services under special offer rates, you adhere to the associated Payment Policies.

Credit card charges

If you use a credit card to make payments, we will add a fee of 2.00% which will be added at the payment stage. The fee is capped at €250 for each transaction using Visa or MasterCard.

Our General Cancellation Policy

We have the following cancellation policy and fees in place, always in accordance with our General Payment Policy:

  • If you cancel your reservation 120 days or more, prior to the service provision, a 10% fee from the total cost will occur and you will be refunded the 20% of the total cost.
  • If you cancel your reservation 119 – 80 days prior to the service provision, a 15% fee from the total cost will occur and you will be refunded the 15% of the total cost.
  • If you cancel your reservation 79- 60 days prior to the service provision, a 20% fee from the total cost will occur and you will be refunded the 10% of the total cost.
  • If you cancel your reservation 59 – 45 days prior to the service provision, a 50% fee from the total cost will occur and you will be refunded the 50% of the total cost.
  • If you cancel your reservation 44 or less days prior to the service provision, you will be charged the full amount and there will be no refund.

Any third-party charges upon refunding would be passed onto you (e.g. bank transfer charges). All refunds will be paid within 5 working days, counting from the next working day of the cancellation. Please also note that all cancellations must be made only in writing (email) or online through your profile at www.alargo.no/www.alargo.com, unless they occur due to no payments within the agreed time frames.

Cancellations made prior to receiving a booking confirmation do not incur any fees.

Travel Insurance

For your peace of mind and to cover you from every eventuality, we recommend all guests to have comprehensive travel insurance.

Cancellation or Alteration by us

In the highly unlikely event a confirmed service (e.g. accommodation, private chef, yacht, etc.) cannot be made available, be out of order or deemed substandard prior to the service provision, Alargo reserves the right to provide you with substitute comparable or better service without liability. If a comparable alternative cannot be made available, guests may wish to receive a complete refund of the service cost only for the confirmed service. Alargo will only be liable for accommodation and services booked through our websites and cannot bear responsibility for other arrangements or services booked separately in connection to our services.

Alargo is not responsible for inadvertent errors on our website. All rates and services details are subject to change without prior notice.

Your use of the Alargo website

You should only use our websites if you can form a legally binding contract that is enforceable against you as a guest. For some of our services such car-hire and certain properties, applicable age limits set by our partners apply.

You also agree to provide us with complete, accurate and current information when reserving or booking a service through us. We will only use and store your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right at our discretion to end, or decline to provide you with any or all of the services we offer at any time, without entering further discussions with you. Any such refusal or termination shall not affect any right or remedy to which Alargo may be entitled.

You acknowledge that Alargo will send you emails and SMS relating to your transactions and other activities (if we have your consent) on the website.

You may also agree to regular Alargo newsletters to be sent electronically and/or by post, and you can opt out of receiving them at any time.

So, our services…

We put “service providers” in touch with short term holidaymakers ("guests"). Our ‘Online Booking Service’ is not for the use of long term service seekers for example renters or those looking for permanent accommodation. For instance, we may provide long – term rentals only by case and only on demand. Please contact us for further details and we will be happy to help.

Force Majeure

Alargo has no liability for any lack of performance, unavailability or failure of any services or the Alargo website, or for any failure of Alargo to comply with these terms and conditions where the same arises from any cause reasonably beyond the control of Alargo.

No Waiver

If we do not exercise or enforce any right available to us under these terms and conditions, it does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

Partial Invalidity

If any provision of these terms and conditions becomes or is held to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal for any reason, and in any respect, that provision shall be severed from the remaining terms and conditions, which shall continue in full force and effect.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Norway, where our company is based.

Alargo Property Rights

Alargo AS owns all rights in relation to the alargo.no and alargo.com websites (such as; text, graphics, logos, icons) and the booking software and other material underlying and forming part of the services and the website. You may not without our prior written permission, in any form or by any means: adapt, reproduce, copy, store, distribute, print, display, perform, publish or create derivative works from any part of this website; or commercialize, copy, or on-sell any information, or items obtained from any part of this website.
